Over the past year our lives have flowed along quietly, filled with the same fun activities as in recent years.
Enjoying our house and life in Thailand, visiting family and friends in the Netherlands, traveling through Europe in one of the old Jags, enjoying the Mediterranean in Spain (you know: sun, sea, sex) and closed again this year with a longer visit to Laura in Australia, where Minke's mother Paula was again present at Laura's birthday and helped with the Christmas decorations.
Something big has been accomplished there: together we bought an incredibly beautiful house in the "Forgotten Valley" with a piece of land-I-got-you-there and also half a mountain for balance.
Only an hour and a half drive plus a ferry from central Sydney and yet mountains and rivers and forests as far as the eye can see.
Fantastically beautiful, but of course also a lot of work cleaning up the mess that nature makes.
Special news was to hear that Laura and her boyfriend Will have wedding plans at this special location.
We look forward to hearing more about their plans in the near future.

During the European summer we drove the E-type once again through beautiful France to the Costa Brava, where Laura also stopped by.
And in between we also visited a wedding in Germany from Laura's best friend from Bangkok times.
Then on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees we explored the Ordesa nature park, very beautiful, especially if you take the eastern entrances where few other hikers come.
A few days of waiting for a Jaguar part resulted in a nice stay in the village of Saravillo in these mountains, as if we were part of the community.
And then via the Dordogne (we can't spread out any further, but there are nice houses there for little money!) back to the Netherlands.

Fortunately, we have managed to avoid the hands of the medical guild this year, but unfortunately, and this trend will not be reversed in our phase of life, the health of more and more friends and family is in dire straits or suffers shipwreck.
We hope that any medical misfortunes will be temporary.
Our circle of friends and acquaintances in Thailand is starting to thin out, but also because more people are repatriating to Europe. Developments in the world are depressing and solutions to world conflicts and current Dutch problems do not seem to be in sight for the time being. Australia seems comfortably removed from all this.
We keep ourselves informed of all misery and current developments, but we also try to pay attention to the beautiful and special nature (here in the beautiful Dordogne) and our life with friends and family.
We are the first to wish you a healthy 2024 and of course many special moments with each other and in nature.
